Alan has overall responsibility for Shambaugh’s Chicago and South Bend fire protection locations, in addition to Harroun’s Kalamazoo location. He also maintains the Fire Protection Group’s standards and work quality.
Adept in developing and enforcing best practices to ensure operational efficiency, Alan evaluates operating locations’ performance and recommends new strategies for improvement.
His oversight of the daily operations of our Chicago location includes sales and project estimates, engineering and design, and final product and systems installation.
Alan’s knowledge helps enable our team to deliver the most versatile and economical fire protection systems along with excellent quality and customer service.
Expertise
Alan has been in the fire protection industry since 2007, performing a series of roles that developed his ability to expertly manage fire sprinkler contractor operations.
He began his career as a fire sprinkler designer, and proceeded through positions in training, management, sales, and estimating, before becoming Branch Manager.
Alan has been involved in design-build and plan-spec projects ranging from $500 to $8 million, across a wide range of industrial, commercial, and residential projects including distribution centers, assisted living, institutional, healthcare, high-rise, and stadium construction.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Valparaiso University and a Master of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. He also serves as Vice Chairman for the Illinois Chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
